Holidays on Lake Garda: every day at its own pace

At our hotel, a holiday on Lake Garda begins with simple pleasures: the morning light on the lake, the fragrance of coffee on the terrace, the gentle sound of water. From here, every day can be what you want it to be: adventure, exploration or pure relaxation, always surrounded by the beauty of Lake Garda.

What does it mean to holiday on Lake Garda

A holiday on Lake Garda is an opportunity to change rhythm every day. At Baia Azzurra, you can begin the day with a full breakfast on the terrace, as you admire the view of the lake, and then decide whether to set off on an excursion, stop to enjoy the peaceful garden with Jacuzzi, take a dive into the lake or enjoy one of the water sports typical of the Garda area, like windsurfing or sailing.
Cyclists will be able to make use of our free city bikes, and those interested in exploring the surrounding area can visit nearby villages and natural sites.
Our restaurant L’Onda is ideal for ending the day in the right way or for a tasty lunchtime break, and when you want to take time out, you can visit our bar with terrace, which offers a view of the lake.

What is there to see over a weekend on Lake Garda?

A long weekend? Here are our suggestions for three days full of variety. Inspiration to help you plan your ideal holiday on Lake Garda.

Begin your stay with a relaxing stroll on the beach. The historic centre of Torbole is just a few minutes away from our hotel. Known as the Windy Paradise, Torbole is also the perfect place for water sports: you can enjoy windsurfing or sailing, and take advantage of the local sports schools.
Another option is to take to the saddle of one of our city bikes, which are available free of charge, and travel the cycle path that leads to Riva del Garda, where you can visit the Apponale Tower or lose yourself among the lanes in the historic centre.

For the second day, we suggest an exploration of the Veneto side of Lake Garda: in less than an hour’s ferry ride, you can reach Malcesine, dominated by the picturesque Castello Scaligero. From here, take the rotating cable car, which in just a few minutes will whisk you up Monte Baldo to an altitude of over 1,700 metres. This natural paradise offers spectacular views, excursions through the “Botanical Garden of Europe” and trails for mountain bikes.

The final day is dedicated to a gentle pace and the beauty of small details. Set off by bike or ferry to Limone sul Garda, one of the most characteristic towns in the area. Explore the historic Castèl Lemon House and enjoy the charming landscape. You can follow this with an afternoon of culture. Visit the Varone Waterfall Caves or the MART Museum in Rovereto: with the Trentino Guest Card, available for all our guests, entrance is free of charge.

What is there to see over a week on Lake Garda?

If you have a week to spend, your holiday on Lake Garda could be an opportunity to explore not only the surrounding area, but also cities and natural wonders a little further afield.
This is what we recommend seeing while on a seven-day stay, enjoying a blend of nature, villages to explore and relaxation. Suggestions to inspire you, ideas to adapt and modify according to your tastes and experiences.

Your first day could begin with a walk to the centre of Torbole, and when the weather is warmer, you can relax on the beach. If you love cycling, take a ride along the lakeside cycle route leading to Riva del Garda, where you can visit the historic Apponale Tower, explore the lanes in the centre and enjoy a coffee break in the main square.

For your second day, why not explore another lakeside town? Malcesine, on the Veneto side, is easy to reach from our hotel, either by ferry or car. Visit the fascinating Castello Scaligero, and then take the rotating cable car up to Monte Baldo, which reaches an altitude of 1,700 metres in just a few minutes, from where you can enjoy excursions by foot or on MTB.

The morning is ideal for exploring the Strada del Ponale, a spectacular trail carved into the rock between Riva del Garda and the Ledro Valley. It can be travelled by foot, e-bike or, for the more trained sports people, by gravel or mountain bike. Along the way, you will be able to enjoy a series of panoramic rest points offering views of the lake.
In the afternoon, return to Torbole to enjoy the sports that have made this area famous: windsurfing, sailing and wing foil. There are schools and equipment hire centres just a few minutes from our hotel that offer experiences for all levels.

Travel to Limone sul Garda, one of the most charming towns on the lake, either by ferry or along the panoramic cycle path. Stroll through the narrow lanes and among the colourful houses, visit the historic Castèl Lemon House and immerse yourself in the fragrance of citrus fruits. Before you return, explore a section of the famous cycle route suspended over the lake , one of the most spectacular in Europe.

During your holiday on Lake Garda, why not take the opportunity to visit the nearby city of Verona? The city can be reached from our hotel in just over one hour. From the Arena to Piazza delle Erbe, from Juliet’s house to Castelvecchio: history, culture and endless charm, all in one city.

Lake Tenno, famous for its crystal-clear waters, and the hamlet of Canale di Tenno, famous as one of the most beautiful in Italy, are just half-an-hour away from Torbole. From here, you can reach Malga Grassi and enjoy a lunch immersed in nature. Located in the midst of meadows and woods, it offers typical mountain food made with local ingredients. The route is also suitable for those preferring to travel by e-bike.

A day dedicated to well-being. Travel to the Verona side of the lake to visit the towns of Lazise and Sirmione, which offer splendid walks along the lakeside. After lunch, take a dive into the invigorating waters of the Colà di Lazise Thermal Springs, set in the midst of a centuries-old park.
